TG611 governors are API611 designed mechanical-hydraulic speed droop governors with an integrated Overspeed Test Device (OSTD) for controlling small steam turbines. TG611 governors are available in two different work outputs, clockwise and counterclockwise input shaft rotation, and three different speed ranges with screw adjustment capabilities. The built-in relief valve-accumulator helps maintain full oil pressure in the governor hydraulic system during transient conditions.
Turbine Governors
Low Cost, Reliable, Accurate
Woodward’s patented and perfected industry standard and trusted self-contained, mechanical-hydraulic, speed droop governors continue to be the most widely used equipment on small steam turbines driving pumps, compressors, and generators, where isochronous (constant speed) operation is not required. These governors control turbine speed by sensing turbine rotor speed via their input drive shaft, comparing this speed to an internal speed set point, then using a rotary output terminal shaft connected to the turbine’s governor valve to control turbine inlet steam flow.
TG-13/-17 Turbine Governor
TG Governors are self-contained, mechanical-hydraulic, speed droop governors. TG governors are available in two different work outputs, clockwise and counterclockwise input shaft rotation, and two different types of speed-setting adjustments of screw set or lever set configuration. The built-in relief valve-accumulator helps maintain full oil pressure in the governor hydraulic system during transient conditions.
